NOW wage subsidy: maximum reimbursable revenue loss raised to 90%

The cabinet has decided to widen the NOW 5 (November and December 2021) and NOW 6 (first quarter of 2022) schemes. The maximum reimbursable revenue loss is raised from 80% to 90%. This means that, when calculating the amount of NOW subsidy, a maximum revenue-loss percentage of 90% is used. Since the subsidy period, and therefore the payment of NOW 5 advances, has already started, this widening for NOW 5 can only be taken into account at the final subsidy assessment. For NOW 6, in the first quarter of 2022, the 90% widening will already be taken into account when granting advances. The additional cost of raising the maximum revenue-loss percentage is estimated at EUR 28 million for NOW 5 and EUR 44 million for NOW 6.
