The UWV has published the Werkwijzer Poortwachter (Gatekeeper Improvement Act guide) on its website. This guide is intended to help employers, company doctors, occupational health services and reintegration firms with the guidance and reintegration of sick employees.
Among other things, the Werkwijzer Poortwachter answers the following questions:
- What does the UWV expect from the employer during an employee’s reintegration?
- How does the UWV assess whether the employer’s reintegration efforts were sufficient?
- What are the consequences for the employer if its reintegration efforts turn out to be insufficient?
The 2021 Werkwijzer Poortwachter replaces the previous “Werkwijzer RIV-toets in de praktijk” guide.
